Last Minute Outfits for New Year's Eve
The last holiday of the year is fast approaching and what? You forgot about it in your food coma, post shopping and making returns phase? No worries. I have some outfit ideas you can try on for size.
All Black with Sparkle on the Ear Lobes
Reformation black leather jacket + Madewell black bodysuit + Madewell black skinny jeans + Vince Camuto Boots + House of Harlow earrings
Even though this outfit is the opposite of a man repeller, man attractor?, it is still comfortable and stretchy enough to withstand all the drinks and snacks you throw at it. I can never detect how “man repeller” an outfit is anymore because my husband loves everything from low cut tops, all the colors and bright shiny earrings. It is a blessing and a curse.
I wore this outfit minus the earrings to my anniversary dinner and it was one of the few times I felt sufficiently comfortable while flirting with being scandalous and sexy in public which I don't like to do. Top with a fun jacket or coat, not pictured, preferably furry or colorful depending on your vibe. If the plunging neckline is a bit too deep for your taste or if you are afraid of accidental over exposure wear another top underneath or a sports bra which I can attest will not look like a sports bra.
A plaid dress because why not?
Topshop plaid dress + Madewell white turtleneck + Vince Camuto leggings + Madewell sparkle socks + Reformation leather jacket + Faux fur scarf
If you are a dress gal or don't mind wild temperature fluctuations on your legs this outfit is for you. Maybe you want to hint that you used to be a naughty school girl or are currently a bookworm but one that knows how to party. This outfit is comfortable in uncomfortable situations so make sure to go somewhere where you will not blend in. You bring the party with the faux fur and sparkle socks. Subtle.
Denim and Striped
Tradlands striped button down + Madewell black skinny jeans + Vintage Levi's denim jacket + Vince Camuto boots + Hair ribbon snatched from a present
Who doesn't love stripes, denim and boots? I have a love of stripes that originates from my highly stringent fashion choices involving only wearing pink and black even if that was on a polo shirt complete with black lace on the collar and a black skull where a more demure insignia usually resides. I love Tradlands for their ethical and sustainable fashion leanings but also for cultivating a tomboy aesthetic that isn't purely oversized and expected. Everything they produce is something I could see myself wearing or at the very least looks well constructed and comfortable. So I decided to go full tomboy chic for this outfit and added in some pops of red including a bow made from a great ribbon I found from discarded Christmas wrappings.
