3 Summer to Fall Outfits
For that dreaded or beloved transitional time of year when summer becomes fall.
I still want to wear shorts edition
After sufficiently recovering from the long weekend now is the perfect time to play around with pieces from your fall wardrobe. It's still pretty balmy in Texas so if you can't quite give up wearing shorts yet these looks are for you. Just so you know most of us in Texas can safely rock outfits with shorts until October depending on the weather. Basically it's shorts weather for half the year.
Monochrome with a light sweater
Who doesn't want to look like a pop tart or a cupcake minus the sugar?
The only way to make millennial pink look fresh is to wear a lot of it. When in doubt monochrome outfits are a great way to look pulled together without much effort. This sweater is perfect for the slightly cooler almost fall weather. This can also be worn comfortably in 80 degrees too if the weather is predisposed to mood swings. You can still feel the breeze and it's slightly see through because of the loose weave. This look is great for the weekend or can be dressed up with fun accessories and wedges. I kept it more casual with my Dolce Vita slides.
Denim jacket with shorts
Dare to wear nothing underneath.
I love denim especially when it's over sized, vintage and broken in. I feel like it goes with everything. Denim is the new neutral. I added my J Crew tassel earrings for a pop of color. These shorts are great for impromptu pajama parties or going out. Denim and stripes are a combination that always works. While the below look might be more of the typical going out outfit this one could also swing it since it's casual and comfy but still looks put together. You can take my lead with the slightly risque choice of wearing the jacket as a top with some or none of the buttons done.
Denim, dress & drinks
Dress up and down simultaneously.
This outfit is for those who want to show some skin while still being comfortable. Feel free to actually wear the jacket or be nonchalant with the over the shoulders drape. Only the coolest people forget their jacket has arm holes. I'm not into body con dresses so this Reformation slip dress is perfect for me. It has a fun 90's inspired neckline and shorter length to show off your legs. It stays comfortable with the looser fit i.e you can eat without looking pregnant.
