Material Box from Material World Outfits
To help me figure out which clothes I wanted to keep from my Material Box from Material World I decided to style my two favorite pieces with the rest of my wardrobe. If you want to see all the goodies I received from my Material Box check out the post from Wednesday. All the items were in really great condition but the two below were my favorites.
Wind Breaker Blazer
I know the concept of wind breaker + blazer is weird but also wonderful especially receiving this during winter. Most days, in Texas, it is cold, sometimes, but not overcast and almost always windy. I don't mind the cold but the windchill kills me every time. I can't remember the last time I owned a proper wind breaker. Junior high? Yes, I remember a giant red, white and blue, start chanting U.S.A. silently to self, windbreaker. I didn't like it much even though I barely cared about clothes at the time. Now I have a stylish wind breaker, an oxymoron if I've ever heard one, and the wind won't cut me straight to the bone any more.
This outfit is an example of being super comfortable without wearing sweats head to toe. Any time I can find an outfit that feels like sweats but looks put together I will rock it constantly. This wind breaker blazer also makes me happy because its endless versatility. I wore it on Friday with a dress and on Saturday with leggings, long, colorful earrings and my trusty red boots. I really love outfits that could go anywhere for any occasion.
Dual color button down
I liked this top initially since it has all the ingredients to be something I would wear in constant rotation. Being a button down, a different variation I don't own and a different cut and fit from other button downs in my closet. I paired it with my Everlane boyfriend jeans in black and red boots. I don't normally like slouchy jeans but after my previous foray with Everlane denim convinced me to give it a shot. I have plenty of skinny jeans and wanted to play around with different cuts and styles. When I want to keep my earrings more minimal I pull on my red boots for that pop of red.
I decided to keep only the wind breaker blazer because the button down was just a little too cropped and short in the arms for my liking. The fabric felt great and I liked the dual colors in one piece. Since I have so many button downs whenever I'm considering adding another to my collection it has to be different enough and have the fit I like or I won't wear it much.
I definitely recommend the Material Box from Material World for any vintage lovers out there who want to skip the hunt and just get great pieces sent to you in the mail. I'm looking forward to warmer weather this weekend, at least in Texas, and saying good bye to freezing temperatures!
