Girlfriend Collective Legging Outfits
The best part about the weather in Texas? It is always fluctuating between tolerable and not. When it errs on the side of nice it feels like paradise. On the fouler days it feels like a cruel joke. That's the real kicker. You can never count on the weather from the day before to predict the weather today. Which is why weather apps are a must when deciding what to wear for the day and maybe not freeze or get soaked in the meantime.
If you haven't heard about Girlfriend Collective and the amazing leggings they create out of water bottles, yes really, you must have snoozed through their free leggings giveaway. No worries. You can buy their leggings in a plethora of colors and sizes for whatever your mood or workout personality. When I received my free promo black leggings, just paid for shipping, I wasn't quite as workout happy as I am now. They are just as wearable as my other black leggings with no sheering when you bend over, which is a win. The compression is also great for workouts, recovery days or general aches and pains in your lower back and legs.
Since I crave novelty and more leggings, I bought the high-rise ¾ leggings in red ochre and the new high-rise run short in black because summer will be here before you know it. While I have ample opportunities to wear the red leggings I haven't quite mustered up the will power to wear the shorts when it is cold outside. What's a girl to do? Wear them inside. Create some outfits which will live exclusively inside, for now.
My favorite thing to do in the winter is wear not pants. Shorts with a giant sweater or sweatshirt, the more amorphous the better, is the outfit my homebody loving body wants and craves.
These outfits could go outside but would rather not. Instead cuddling up in bed reading or watching Netflix is what these outfits crave.
I'm notoriously color averse. I'm trying to break the habit in baby steps. Buy some colorful clothes and accessories to pair with my black jeans and leggings of choice to ease into the transition. Wear an outfit without black or with small amounts randomly scattered around. The color of these leggings is a bit more bunt orange than I expected but I still like them. Since I'm in Texas people will probably just think I'm a UT fan.
I haven't ventured out in public wearing these leggings yet for two reasons. They are my workout mainstay and the weather makes me not want to expose my ankles even an inch. These will also punch up my usual cool artist uniform of long button down + black leggings + shoe of choice. It's a process.
