Stripes For Spring
Through much trial and error I've learned that to get great deals on clothes you need to buy them out of season and wait impatiently for the weather to change. This was my thinking behind buying two Everlane striped tee shirt dresses in January. Obviously you can layer and wear these bad boys under or over a myriad of options but I wanted to wait and showcase them in their striped glory. It still isn't really spring weather in Texas consistently so I still need a few other pieces to keep from freezing.
Who says large horizontal stripes can't be fancy? Not I. The way to make anything look fancier, if you are into that, is adding a blazer. This navy one from my Material World box is so versatile I usually wear it at least twice a week without trying. Giant colorful earrings to graze your shoulders reflect the myriad of colors wafting from your outfit. You can try to be a wallflower in this outfit but attention will find you. Fun fact: I was at a fashion event recently and a man came up to me and asked if I was in charge. This was so profoundly false I chuckled and said no. He explained that my natural aloofness and looking like I didn't care made him assume I was in charge. I'm glad my wallflower ways have turned into an asset!
An outfit all lazy slobs and Grace Helbig will love! I don't always purchase merchandise from YouTube stars but when I do it needs to be comfy and reminiscent of my husbands clothes. Good news! This red hoodie wins on both fronts. Hoodies usually stay inside with me and rarely venture out but this one is the exception. So far I haven't seen anyone in my neck of the woods wearing a I don't know hoodie from Grace Helbig but I hold out hope there are some people, probably teens, who will think I'm super cool when they spot me out and about in this.
Also upside down smiley faces are hilarious because no one knows what they mean or how to respond to one in texts. I like to use it in the context of something stupid or upsetting that happened but I'm smiling through the pain, frustration or pretending to over the internet. I don't know. :)
