Holiday Outfits with Red Boots
Holiday outfits or just winter outfits get a kick from these red boots. Red is the trending color of the season. I love using red as my preferred pop of color in outfits. But I decided to up the ante this year and got red boots for my birthday. Not just any red boots either. These shiny bright red Chelsea boots from Dolce Vita exclusively at Bloomingdales. The outfit ideas just started coming to me.
Mad for plaid, black and layers
Plaid has always been a wardrobe staple for me since I figured out what a wardrobe was. This shirt is reminiscent of one I accidentally let a ex boyfriend borrow and didn't have the foresight to take back before we broke up. Life lesson learned. I like this plaid shirt because it is in that sweet spot between being a cozy flannel and too thin shirt. It is cozy without making me sweat and light enough for layering. Wear this outfit when you want to look and feel like a comfortable rock star. Covertly festive with red boots no one will notice until you sit down.
Denim power suit
Power suiting is another trend all over my Pinterest and Instagram feed but I don't really enjoy non breathable, polyester fabrics even if they look good in photos. So I mixed up my Canadian Tuxedo with some stripes and red. With my hair up and dark lipstick I feel like I could be a fashion editor or just look like one in my spare time.
Red Sprinkles
This is proof that to spice up an outfit all you need is the right seasoning. In this instance red pepper shoes do the trick. I like this look because it doesn't scream holiday outfit but still attracts some subtle attention. If I saw someone wearing this I would think, “Wow. I should get some red boots.” It is easy to be intimidated by trends or outfits if you only see them on celebrities or models. This shows you an easy way to incorporate something in your own wardrobe.
