Nostalgia Outfits

Nostalgia Outfits

I've already talked about time travel via music but another way is through that fickle beast of fashion. Sometimes you want to be another person, hello Halloween, or try out long dead trends that are resurrected or toned down for modern consumption. Either way the results are the same without involving a Freaky Friday brain swap. Try out being someone else or channeling something new. This can lead to finding new trends or silhouettes you like, I've been having fun with large, billowing and decorative sleeves, and finding out which ones aren't the best for you.

I love a good floral print with a long swishy skirt and sleeve details make it just a little bit more interesting. I wrote a whole long post about this red floral dress and still counting down the days until I can wear it without sweating. My vision involves tons of layers, possibly a blazer, and definitely some boots.

These sleeves and neckline are everything! This is the most Victorian I can get without getting too uncomfortable. No pointy boots or corsets here, thanks.

While technically alive in the 90's, I didn't get to fully participate in fashion trends until well into the 00's. So this is me channeling two 90's heroines of mine, Drew Barrymore and Melissa Joan Hart. I was even told I looked like younger Drew Barrymore in this exact outfit and I was so glad someone realized my vision translated so completely. The Everlane jeans are a bit loose now and skew more Mom jean but for this outfit and future ones that is fine with me.
