Cosrx Snail Mucin Changed My Skin

Cosrx Snail Mucin Changed My Skin

In the land of beauty products it’s hard to find that perfect match for your needs. Some are too expensive and don’t work while others are affordable with great results. For me, Cosrx snail mucin works wonders for a modest price.

My first time trying out this sticky substance in beauty products was the Petitfee Gold & Snail Hydrogel Eye Patches and the Benton Snail Bee High Content Sheet Mask. If I enjoyed this fun, plumping goo maybe I should try it out in a daily serum.

Snail Slime?

Snail mucin is the real deal. As a combination skin girl, I'm still trying to forget the idea that stripping your skin of oil is good since it makes your body produce more oil and the whole cycle continues. In my new skincare routine, adding moisture and less aggravating ingredients, snail mucin seems like a great candidate.

The snail mucin helps my skin retain moisture and made some persistent dry patches disappear. My right cheek is always getting dry. I'm on a never ending quest to figure out how to moisturize this little patch of skin.

My biggest problem with moisturizers is the thick, emollient ones clog my pores which only adds to my problems. My skin is sensitive and likes to freak out over nothing. So I only add products with care.

Does it Work?

The texture of the snail mucin is exactly what you expect, slimy, but doesn't smell. I apply one pump to cover my whole face. It absorbs faster than my moisturizer so my skin doesn't stay sticky or tacky for very long. I use it in my morning and evening routine before my moisturizer and after cleansing.

The two things I've done which actually work is cutting out products that contain irritants like bismuth and snail mucin.

The previous toner I tried as a teen was swiping my Mom's neon blue Sea Breeze across my face when hot, sweaty and probably dirty. It was so satisfying to see the dirt and grime swiped off my face on the cotton ball coupled with the tingling sensation I associated with feeling clean. I know better now. The tingling is alcohol stripping my face of moisture and oil.

I will probably never have a 12 step skin care regimen, too many steps, but thoughtfully adding products to my routine is something I've grown used to. If you need more moisture minus the pore clogging I would recommend trying out snail mucin.
