Pastel outfits for summer so ground breaking! In the search for comfortable heels or sandals for summer the Everlane block heel sandals are the clear winner for any occasion that needs a little dressing up or something extra.

While a block heel isn't inherently unique, the aspect I couldn't get over was the color and print. I don't think you could find these naturally occurring in nature, blue lizards, but they looked cool and unique. I figured this color would sell out first since they were so different, sometimes the masses of consumers even conscious ones don't agree with my aesthetics, and currently they are. I used to be very concerned about every aspect of my outfit playing nice with each other, nothing too crazy or foreign. Now I find ways to break down my self imposed style barriers with intriguing new finds or putting things together in new and unexpected ways.

As someone who likes to dip my pinky toe in color, but not completely submerge, my color palette of choice usually skews pastel. My former goth self would be livid but it's hard to live through 6 months of summer in all black, even if sanctioned by your job to do so. So even though I was mighty tempted by the black block heels I decided to go with my gut and try out some non black footwear, 90% of my shoes have black in them, for some contrast in my summer outfits and beyond. When I won't drown in sweat, I look forward to wearing these with jeans like my black flares for a nice pop of color at the end of each stride. Another great aspect of these besides comfort is the pop you get from contrasting nail polish on your toes. Mine are usually red and against the blue backdrop they pop even more.

Another plus for the block heel sandals is they aren't so high, I don't need to be teetering around all the time, that wearing them with shorts looks scandalous. This is one of those general fashion rules I'm happy to break especially when the heels are this comfortable. Can you believe I don't have a pastel pink wall with palm leaves in front of it in my house? It would make a great wallpaper or background for selfies.
